People lock receiving station to protest power cuts in Rafiabad
Rafiabad: Irked by frequent power cuts, people in Watergam area of Rafiabad locked down the PDD’s Power Receiving Station as a mark of protest.
Large number of people took to the main roads and staged massive demonstrations to protest unscheduled long-drawn-out power cuts in the area.
Residents alleged that they are reeling under complete darkness. They shouted anti-government and anti-PDD slogans and later marched towards PDD Receiving Station to lock it down.
Meanwhile, the official at PDD department said that due to the extra usage people are getting unscheduled power.
He, however, added that they will send an inspection team in the area and within a short period of time this demand will be redressed.
