Srinagar: Board of School Education (BOSE) has once again failed to maintain privacy and secrecy of question papers devised for the class 12th annual examinations.

Students appearing in 12th class examinations conducted by BOSE on Wednesday were surprised to see the question paper of Urdu which was set for class 10 students.

The class 10th Urdu paper however, was scheduled on November 13 as per the date sheet framed by the BOSE.

The news spread after the staff in one of the exam centres in Budgam distributed class 10 Urdu papers among class 12th students who had come to appear in their scheduled examination.

“The concerned Superintendent had mistakenly collected class 10 Urdu Paper instead of class 12th and distributed the same in examination hall,” a BOSE official said.

Meanwhile, the State Board of School Education (BOSE) has decided to conduct the examination for Class 10th Urdu subject as per schedule.

“We will not postpone the exam for 10th class Urdu paper as we have cancelled that paper and printed another paper as well. The exam will be held on scheduled date,” Joint secretary exams, JKBOSE Syed Rouf said.

He acknowledged that class 12 students were given class 10 question paper in one each exam centres at Khan Sahab and Nowhatta.

“We have got the report from Police wherein it is stated that it was due to negligence of concerned Superintendents that wrong question Papers were distributed among students,” he said.

“A copy of report will also be forwarded to director school education for further action against the erring official,” he said.

Meanwhile, a police official blamed the concerned Superintendent for taking wrong pack of question papers without checking the outer cover.

The Superintendent missed out to read the outer cover ‘where it is mentioned that for which class this question paper has been set’, a police official said.

Interestingly, BOSE in 2015 had also distributed social science paper instead of science paper to the students appearing in class 10th annual exams. This year class 10 exams commenced from November 02 with 97 percent attendance of students. BOSE has setup 650 exam centres in schools across Kashmir and Jammu winter zone.
