Seminar on faculty Dev in Hr Edu intent, initiatives concludes

Srinagar: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir today said the varsity would extend every possible support and cooperation to the colleges, particularly those functioning in remote corners of the Valley, for organizing academic workshops, seminars and conferences.

“The students of the colleges established in far off places in Kashmir can also participate in the academic programmes organised by different departments of the university from time to time,” Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir said while addressing the valedictory function of the two-day national seminar on ‘Faculty Development in Higher Education, Intent/Initiatives/Implementation,’ organised by the CUK in collaboration with Hassan Khoyihami Memorial Government Degree College Bandipora.

Director Campus-I, Dean School of Education, Prof. N A Nadeem, Seminar Director and Government Degree College Bandipora Principal, Prof. H G Mustafa, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka, other faculty members and students of both the institutions were also present during the valedictory function.

Prof. Mir further said the participants deliberated upon several issues related to the faculty development, which is very essential in building the teaching capacity among the higher education faculty members.

Director Campus-I, Dean School of Education, Prof. N A Nadeem thanked all the participants and the resource persons for attending the seminar. He said the involvement of students and faculty is important in such seminars. Prof. Nadeem also thanked the Vice-Chancellor for providing the support for organizing the event.

HKM government degree College, Principal, Prof. H.G Mustafa said that this was the second programme organised by his institution in collaboration with CUK. Prof. Mustafa said that several noted academicians presented their papers on the theme during both the days of the seminar. He thanked all the participants and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir for his support in making the event a huge success. Worthwhile to mention here that first day of the seminar was organised at Degree College Bandipore on Tuesday.

Dr. G M Khan conducted the proceedings of the event while as Naseer Ahmad Khan proposed the vote of thanks.
