JKJCCI welcomes resumption of LoC trade

Jammu: Rakesh Gupta, Joint President J&K Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industries (JKJCCI) today thanked the State Government, Union Government, Governor N N Vohra and Ministry of Home Affairs for resumption of Bus Service and the Trade from Chakan-da-bagh which were abruptly stopped since July 10.

According to the statement issued, the Joint Chamber had been constantly meeting all the concerned in the government circles to get these services resumed as soon as possible because by dint of this bus service and trade at LOC points that the people at large from both sides of J&K on LOC had come closer as a part of confidence building measures.

“The JKJCCI had before also requested His Excellency, the Governor of J&K and Hon’ble Chief Minister J&K to take necessary corrective measures to make cross LOC trade flawless and meaningful by requesting establishment of a dedicated authority for LOC trade, digitalization of LOC trade, enhancement of security structure, banking facility, transfer of officers at LOC points every six months to avoid any nexus and also suggestions like FDR deposits from Traders doing this business,” the statement said.

JKJCCI has urged the government not to allow any such traders to transact business on these points till the time they have submitted security deposits to the tune of Rs. 5 lacs as security in registration process as has been done by more than 65 traders till now.
