Srinagar: As part of nation-wide” black day” being observed by Indian national congress against the demonetization, Jammu and Kashmir unit of PCC today held a noisy protest demonstration here on the occasion of the first anniversary of demonetization.

The PCC workers took out a procession from party headquarters at Maulana Azad Road to Press Enclave along residency road to mark the “black day”.

Former ministers Taj Mohiuddin and Peerzada Mohammad  Sayeed addressed the slogan shouting workers and highlighted the problems being faced by the people across the country due to demonetization.

Taj Mohiuddin said the BJP-led NDA government at the centre failed to provide details about the black money it recovered due to demonetization.

He said  instead of benefiting the countrymen, demonetization has created many problems to the people across the country, especially businessmen, traders, petty shopkeepers and ordinary people.

The Narinder Modi government has failed on all fronts during the past over three years and has done nothing to provide employment to the educated youth of the country, as promised by him during electioneering in 2014, Taj said.

Sayeed also levelled similar allegations against the BJP led government.

The workers dispersed peacefully later.

Police personnel were deployed in strength in and around press enclave during the demonstration. (Kashmir Wire)
