JeM Chief Masood Azhar’s Nephew Among 3 Militants Killed in Pulwama Encounter

Srinagar: Three militants killed during an encounter at Kandi Aglar village of Pulwama district include nephew of Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar and outfit’s divisional commander, a JeM spokesman said a statement issued Monday late night.

Hassan Shah, the JeM spokesman, identified Masood Azhar’s nephew as commander Talha Rasheed. He said two other militants killed in the encounter include Divisional Commander Muhammad Bhai, a  non-local and Waseem, a resident of Drubgam Pulwama.

A senior police officer told that following “credible leads” his men along with army’s 44 RR and 182 CRPF conducted an operation in the Aglar Kandi area of the volatile district in South Kashmir.

Three militants and an army trooper were killed in the gunfight, he said, adding: the militants have been identified as Talha Rashid (Nephew of Jaish Chief), Mehmood Bhai and Wasim Ahmad resident of Drabgom Pulwama .

The Jaish spokesman while paying tributes to slain militants said that their sacrifices won’t go waste.”One day, forces have to leave Kashmir,” the JeM spokesman added.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that the slain militants were involved in killing of selection grade constable Abdul Salam at Rajpora Pulwama two days ago.
