ITI Tral sans basic facilities, students suffer
Pulwama: Even as the authorities claim to have started the process to streamline the education sector, the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district is sans basic facilities while the authorities don’t even bother to look into the sufferings of students.
The students enrolled in ITI Tral said that the lack of basic facilities is affecting their education badly.
According to students, ITI campus functional at Bajwani Tral, lacks all basic facilities like proper electricity, Internet and other necessities.
The Institute is offering different courses like Computer operator and programming assistant (COPA) , Electrician, Mechanical, Welding , Data Entry Operators , Stenography and others but the students in absence of all the basic facilities are being pushed to the wall.
Zeeshan Ahmad student of ITI Tral said that due to the lack of electricity, students are being forced to spend more time in the lawns rather than classes.
Students alleged that generator is available in the Institute but concerned authorities didn’t use that ever for some unknown reasons, adding miseries to the students enrolled in “COPA”.
Another student on condition of anonymity said that there are around 60 students enrolled in ‘COPA’ course, however only six computers have been made available for these 60 students.
He added that authorities are putting their career at stake.
Besides, the students are claiming that the internet facility is not available in the institute.
Meanwhile, the students urged the government to look into the matter and redress their demands at the earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
Principal ITI Tral, Muzzafar Ahmad Shah told Kashmir Vision that they are working to make electricity and internet available. “The issues will be resolved soon,” he said.
However, he denied the student claims and said that there is no shortage of computers in the institute.
