Geelani’s continuous house detention taking toll on his health: Hurriyat (G)

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) Thursday expressed deep concern over the plight of Kashmiri pro-freedom prisoners, lodged in detention centres in and outside Kashmir and said that the political prisoners were for no reason implicated in fake cases.

Hailing the meritorious services and sacrifices rendered by the prisoners, Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that they created laudable history. “We salute them for their steadfastness, persistence and commitment,” he said.

“Since last seven years APHC chairman Syed Ali Geelani is confined to four walls of his residence as police authorities have practically turned his residence into a sub-jail. His continued house detention is taking a heavy toll on his health,” the spokesman added.

Ridiculing the coalition regime, the spokesman said that APHC Dy General Secretary has been in the custody of Police Station Shopian since last month and expressed concern for his falling health.

The spokesman said that few weeks back, court in its orders acquitted and bailed out Masarat Aalam Bhat from all charges, however, police and the administration detained him and slapped 35th PSA and shifted him to Kot Bhalwal jail.

The spokesman expressed his deep concern over the deteriorating health of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif-u-ullah, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Nayem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Kamran Yousuf, Shahid Yousuf, and added that no medical facilities is being provided to them.

Meanwhile, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Ramzan Khan, Syeeda Asiya Andrabi , Fehmeda Sofi, Mohammad Subhan Wani, Amir Hamza Shah, Abdul Ghani Bhat, Mohammad Shaban Dar, Abdul Khaliq Regu, Bashir Ahmad Saleh, Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Sheikh Muhammad Yousuf, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo Javed Ahmed Flay, Haji Mohammad Rustam Bhat Mufti Abdul Ahad Rather, Mohammad Shaban Khan, Meraj-u-Din Niako, Haji Mansoor Ahmed Khel, Mohammad Ashraf Malik, Imtiaz Ahmed Mir, Salman Yousuf, Mashooq Ahmed Bhat , Ghulam Mohammad Tantrey, Nasir Abdullah, Abdul Rashid Bhat , Ghulam Rasool Parey, Bashir Ahmed Sofi, Abdul Rashid Rather, Bashir Ahmad Wani, Ghulam Nabi Khan, Sajjad Ahmed Mir, Abdul Salam Mir, Ejaz Ahmed Bahroo, Peer Tanvir, Mushtaq Ahmed Hura, Danish Malik and scores of others ,despite being bailed out by judiciary , were booked and  slapped successive PSA and  are languishing in different jails and detention centres

The spokesman while referring to Dr Muhammad Qassim, Faktoo, Dr Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Noor Mohammad Tantrey Feroz Ahmed Bhat, Muhammad Ayoub Mir, Fida Ahmad, Mohammad Hussein, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Mohammad Ishaq Pala, Abdul Waheed Naik, Shabir Ahmad Bhat,  Mushtaq Ahmad Malla, Mohd Maqbool, Shareef u Din ,Javed Ahmed Khan, Pervaiz Ahmad Mir Abdul Gani Goni, Ali Mohammad Sheikh, Sami ullah Sheikh, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Abdul Hameed, Zakir Hussain, Hassan Ali, Abdul Rashid, Ghulam Mohammad, Mushtaq, Muhammad Hussain,, Mirza Nisar Hussain , Gayas Din ,Mahmood Topiwala Javed Ahmad Khan, Ahmed Hussain, Mohammad Sayed Bhat, Shaukat Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Arif, Muhammad Shabir, Raj Din, Sheikh Fahad, Sheikh Imran, Mohammad Abbas Wani, Mirza Nisar Hussain, Mohammad Ali Bhat Gulzar Ahmed Tantrey  were awarded lifer and thus depriving nation from intellectual class of society.

Hurriyat conference in its appeal to international agencies and organization for human rights, urged to take cognizance of unabated arrests, re-arresting detainees and asked to use its influence to check lawlessness and violations of court orders in state.
