Oath ceremony of Civil Society group held at Sopore

Sopore: The newly elected president, Mohammad Akbar Ganie and General Secretary, Zaffar Ahmad Bhat Saturday took oath in an oath ceremony of Civil Society Sopore.

The oath ceremony was held at Guru Hospital Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla District.

President and General Sectary took oath in front of various dignitaries of Sopore town and all members of civil society were present on the occasion including other civil organization and seniors citizens of Sopore, President of Traders Federation Sopore Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie, Gh Nabi Qabli of NGO Dawn, Advocate  Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir chairman Kashmir mercantile Bank, Ab Majeed Dar MD Kashmir Mercantile bank, President District Football Association Baramulla, Noor Mohammad and various private schools chairmen and other citizens.

On the occasion, various speakers spoke about the paucity and scarcities faced the people of town in day to day life including dumping site of Garbage, Traffic mess, frequent power cuts, street lights, shortage of water, illegal Street Vendors and others.

Chairman of Civil Society Sopore, Mohammad Akbar Ganaie while addressing the gathering said that the Municipal Council Sopore is piling up garbage heaps along the roadsides in the vicinity of schools, colleges, Hospital and government offices. “The heaps of garbage spread stink in the apple town, making it difficult to walk without covering nose,” Chairman Said,

He further asked the locals to join hands with the civil society and make this civil organization more strong.

Ganie assured people of town that the day is not far when Sopore town will be made developmentally rich.
