Srinagar: After National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Syed Shahid Yousuf, son of United Jihad Council chief Syed Sallauddin and summoned his grandson in alleged terror funding case, his family members and relatives on Saturday said they will court arrest if the state government failed to stop harassing them.

According to the reports, around 50 elders from the ancestral village of Salahuddin in central Kashmir met Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) Budgam to convey their concerns over the harassment of Salahuddin’s family.

The elders reportedly told the officials the family has been peacefully living with them since they have known one another.

The family and the residents of Soibugh village, according to the source, threatened to court arrest if the “harassment” was not immediately stopped.

“We will court arrest and the responsibility of any untoward happening will lie with the state government,” a Soibugh resident said.

Pertinently, NIA has arrested Salauddin’s son Syed Shahid Yousuf and had raided his house in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. NIA also summoned the grandson of Salahuddin in the same case.

Muzammil Khan, son of Syed Salauddin’s daughter was supposed to appear at NIA headquarters today for questioning.

Khan is the son of the eldest daughter of Syed Salauddin. A resident of Darmunaha village of Budgam, Khan is an Engineering student and has done his Masters degree in the stream.

Meanwhile, during a raid on Syed Yousuf’s residence NIA seized 5 mobile phones, two hard discs, one laptop and ‘incriminating documents’ from the house of Syed Salahuddin’s son Syed Shahid Yousuf.
