KVIC Pampore distributed 90 bee-boxes among beneficiaries

Srinagar: In a bid to promote and popularize ‘bee-keeping’ as a self-employment tool, PMTC, KVIC Pampore on Wednesday distributed 90 Bee-Boxes to recently trained beneficiaries. Besides, Cutting & tailoring/ Fashion Designing training course was concluded with the distribution of certificates to the 30 Girls.

Addressing the gathering Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Chairperson (NZ), KVIC, highlighted the importance of the honey.

She said that it helps generate income for farmers and people of other communities substantially.

She added that honey is not only beneficial for human beings, but also plays an important role in the biodiversity, and in maintaining the ecological balance in nature.

She said that the to promote honey among the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the commission distributed 90 Bee-Boxes today among the trainees who were imparted training course on Bee-Keeping.

She Said that The initiative by KVIC expects to generate around hundreds jobs. Also as a part of the initiative the commission has already given over hundreds of bee-boxes among tribal families in the village of Arawali district of Gujarat.

Dr. Hina said that Always on the lookout for innovative ideas to change the face of the nation, Prime Minister, Shri narendra Modi recently said that along with “Shwet Kranti” there is also need to launched “Sweet Kranti”. The PM Vision is to make India a world leader in the production of honey and bee wax and the convince the farmers to increase crop production through pollination.

Recently Hon’ble President Shri Ramnath Kovind, not only spent good time in the apiary to understood the process of honey production which was explained to him by the KVIC Chairman Shri V.K. Saxena , but he also distributed honey bottles to the students of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Vidyalaya situated in the Rastrapati Bhawan.

In the end, Dr. Hina and other Officers of KVIC distributed Bee-Boxes to Beekeeping trainees and Certificates to Cutting & Tailoring/Fashion Designing trainees.
