Over one dozen villages under cordon in shopian

Forces on Wednesday in wee hours cordoned off over one dozen villages of shopian district after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Official sources said that after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a joint team of 1 RR, 44 RR, 62 RR, 14th bn CRPF and Shopian Police has cordoned off many villages and vast orchard area of shopian district.

As per local sources the villages which are under cordon include Sugan, heff, shirmal, nagbal, Barbugh, Turkwangam, Maldeera, chitragam, kashew, Heff khuri, chillipora, Kadgam,Nullay Poshwari and it’s adjacent areas.

Pertinently same kind of search operations were launched in the district on May 4, August 19, August 28, September 05 and September 09, however all these massive operation ended peacefully.

As per sources, door to door search operation going on.
