3 gamblers arrested in Srinagar

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three gamblers and recovered a stake money of rupees 2770 from their possession  in Srinagar.

A police spokesman said that acting on a specific information Police Station Lal Bazar raided a gambling site at Lal Bazar Srinagar near Qadeem Masjid lane and apprehended three gamblers Adil Ahmad Mir son of Fayaz Ahmad resident of Nawa Kadal, Myser Ahmed Zargar son of Mohammad Abdullah resident of Bota Kadal and Noor Mohammad Hajam son of Ab Gani resident of Qadeem Masjid lane Lalbazar. A stake money of Rupees 2770 was recovered from the gambling site.

The spokesman added that the locals of the area showed utmost maturity and exhibited their role of being respectable and responsible citizens by helping and facilitating police to arrest the culprits. They reiterated their resolve to report any misdoing in the area to police and stand against every crime in their locality to ensure that  their next generation does not indulge in any such crime and rule of law prevails. Case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was set into motion.
