JAMMU: According to a handout issued here today by Director, J&K Rajya Sainik Board, 15 Nov 2017, has been fixed as the last date for online submission of applications under Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for the dependent wards of Ex-servicemen/widows perusing professional Degree Courses recognized by the Government Regulatory Bodies such as AICTE, MCI, UGC/State Universities etc.

The said scheme will be applicable for only those wards who have joined the Professional Degree Course in the academic year 2017-18.

List of eligible Professional Degree Course approved by KSB (MoD) for Prime Minister’s Scholarship is available at KSB website: www.ksb.gov.in

All eligible wards of ex-servicemen/widows of J&K State have been advised to go through the guidelines furnished by Kendriya Sainik Board New Delhi, download the application Form from above mentioned KSB website and report to concerned Zila Sainik Board for necessary documentation at the earliest. After 15 Nov 2017, last date for submission of  “Online application”,  no application will be entertained.

It has also been informed by the MoD that certain organizations have approached some of the students/ESM to provide their bank account and personal details, claiming themselves to be the functionary of PM Scholarship Scheme.  All are advised not to respond to such e-mails.  PMSS Official mail ID [email protected] and KSB Help e-mail ID is [email protected] and respond or share above information to KSB on above mentioned e-mail IDs only to avoid any fraud.

It was further informed that Ex-servicemen/Widows can now avail benefit of various welfare schemes through online submission of applications which are being processed through respective Zila Sainik Welfare Office free of cost.

Some of the welfare schemes being implemented by the Board are Daughter Marriage Grant, Education Grant, Penury Grant, Funeral Grant,  Orphan Child Grant, 100% Disabled Child Grant besides new education welfare schemes are being introduced by Ministry of Defence (MoD) every year for wards of ex-servicemen/widows.

Pertinently, applications for eligible candidates of ESM/widows from Class 1st to Graduation level have been forwarded to MoD by Rajya Sainik Board (J&K) for claiming the grant from Armed Forces Flag Day Fund of MoD, under Education Grant welfare scheme.
