The protesters were holding placards in their hands and were raising slogans against growing attacks on women folk. JKLF leaders Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri addressed the protesters.

Terming these attacks as cowardly acts of hidden enemies, speakers said that growing attacks on women and ugly acts of braid chopping are a direct attack on our self-respect and no Kashmiri can bear these attacks anymore.

Speakers said that Kashmiri mothers, sisters and daughters are under attack from some veiled enemy but the rulers, their police and other agencies remain absolutely clueless about it. “The rulers are busy riding scooters and organizing music concerts and their forces and agencies are calling this menace as mere frenzy and hysteria,” they said.

JKLF leaders said that hundreds of sisters have been left traumatized by unidentified attackers and police and forces who take no time to identify everyone till now claim no breakthrough.

Meanwhile, Malik as pr the spokesman said, “Safeguarding the honor of mothers, sisters, and daughters is important but attacking and hurting innocents in this name gruesome and criminal. Unabated attacks on Kashmiri women and failure of the rulers and their police in stopping these highly condemnable.”

He also appealed people to show restraint and magnanimity while dealing with this issue.

Terming recent incidents wherein many innocents have been beaten, tortured and injured by unruly mobs, Malik in his message said that attacking, lynching, hurting and injuring innocents in the name of braid chopping is shameful and those indulging in this practice are actually harming the sacred cause of Kashmiris and actually helping the cause of hidden enemy.

Emphasizing on the need of unity to fight this menace, Malik said that “while dealing with the menace of braid cutting, we should enhance our society based vigil but deal with nobility, restraint and magnanimity. We cannot become unruly and rude and push our whole society towards anarchy in the name of braid chopping. Our vigil should continue but under the command of elders and Masjid committees and if during our vigil somebody suspicious is seen or caught, he should be brought to elders and Masjid committees members and investigated properly so that no innocent gets harmed.”

Meanwhile, spokesman said that Human Rights Commission today adjourned the cases of Syeda Asiya Andrabi and 17 youth who have been ‘falsely’ inducted in DSP lynching case till 23rd of October 2017.
