Clashes erupt after locals nab braid chopper in Sopore
Sopore : Intense clashes erupted between government forces and civilians after an alleged braid chopper was caught in Majbug area of north Kashmir’s Sopore town in wee hours today, sources said.
As soon as the news spread, police reached the spot and used force to rescue the man and in the ensuing clashes at least five persons were injured. All injured were referred to SDH Sopore for treatment.
“People were marching and near Fruit Mandi police rescued the alleged person,” locals said.
The person has been identified as Waseem Ahmad from Shrakwara Nowpora of Sopore.
