Update: 12 injured during clashes in Wallerhama Pahalgam

Twelve persons were injured after the army fired upon braid chopping protests at Walarhama are the of Pahalgam in Anantnag district.

According to sources, braid of local lady was chopped off in the morning and as the news spread in the area, people came on roads & started protesting against administration for failing to curb the culprits involved in braid chopping incidents.

Sources said people pelted stones at an army vehicle and the soldiers in return fired bullets injuring at least 12 persons.

The injured have been shifted to District Hospital Anantnag.

Meanwhile the authorities have ordered to close the schools for the day in the area. They have also blocked the mobile internet services in south Kashmir to prevent any rumor mongering.
