SRM welkin school celebrates Grandparents day

Sopore: Shah Rasool Memorial Welkin Educational School Sopore Tuesday organised a function to celebrate the Grandparents day. The program started with the verses of Holy Quran and Hadith.

The parents, grandparents and the school staff were present on the occasion.

Secretary Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Theme based ‘cultural dances’ was performed by the students captivated the parents and guests. They were seen clapping at every move performed by students.

The celebration embraced various facets of Kashmiri culture where the students performed folk dances on Hindi, English and Kashmiri songs, a statement issued by the school said. 

The other dignitaries including SSP Sopore Harmeet Singh, Private School Association president GN Var, Traders Federation and Civil Society Presidents Sopore, ADC Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba, CEO Budgma, former Bose chairman M A Charoo, SHO Sopore and large number of parents and other guests were present on the occasion.

Chief guest while addressing the gathering said that the government have to support private institutions too as they are also a part of the society.

“We have to encourage the private schools as well,” he said.

He also encouraged the students who performed on the occasion.

Speaking on the function, Baseema Aijaz, Vice chairperson of SRM Welkin Sopore said that the performance given by the students will give them an exposure to face bigger events in future.

He welcomed and thanked the Chief Guest, parents, media persons and other guests.
