Minister asks Lambardars, Chowkidars to take welfare schemes to grassroots level
Reasi: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda impressed upon Lambardars and Chowkidars to play pivotal role in spreading awareness on welfare schemes of the state and center by taking them to each nook and corner of the district.
The Minister was addressing huge gathering of people at Bharak here today. He said that Lambardars and Chowkidars have extensive outreach in their respective villages as they are closely connected with local people and can understand them in better way.
The Minister also handed over honorarium invoices as per revised rates to them which is for the first time in Tehsil Pouni after the functioning of administrative units. He said, earlier, it was very difficult for them to get their honorarium from Reasi Tehsil but from now they can get it from Tehsil Pouni.
The Minister said that Government is committed to upgrade infrastructure besides easing the implementation of the welfare programmes at grass root level of the common masses. He also said that various initiatives are afoot to develop state on the modern lines.
The Minister impressed upon officers to conduct frequent field visits to aware the people about technical know-how of agriculture and other allied sectors. He also urged upon the youth come close to different schemes for better employment generation opportunities.
He also directed the officers of revenue and rural development department to closely monitor all activities under sanitation campaign in panchyats. They were asked to highlight the activities under the campaign in print and electronic media for wider dissemination.
He said that the many schemes have been instrumental in changing the rural landscape in the entire state and it should be ensured that the people of the any region get benefited from this developmental initiative.
The Minister lauded the officers for intensifying ODF related programmes
Later, the Minister inaugurated a toilet in the same area which would be gifted to sister by her brother on the eve of Bhaidooj.
The Minister was accompanied by Tehsildar Rajesh Baru, BDO Harpal Singh, CDPO Pouni, Zonal Education Officer and various other officers and officials.
