Residential house of slain Sarpanch set on fire in Shopian

Srinagar: A day after suspected militants killed an activist of ruling PDP, a group of people Tuesday afternoon ransacked his house and later set it on fire in Homhuna village in Imamsahab area of Shopian district.

A police officer told that the group of people at around 4:00 pm set ablaze the residential house of slain PDP activist Mohd Ramzan Sheikh at Homhuna, Nagbal.

“Soon after the incident, fire tenders along with the police team rushed to the spot to douse off the flames”.

Pertinently, a militant Showkat Kumar of Trenz was killed during a scuffle that broke after a Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) activist was shot dead by them at Shopian district of south Kashmir.
