Srinagar: Police contemplating to conduct the ‘lie detection and Narco Analysis test’ of victims who were subject to ‘braid chopping’, a senior police officer said.

As the mystery surrounding the braid chopping spree is growing across Kashmir, police said that the braid chopping victims will be asked to undergo the tests.

Police has also formed a special investigation team or SIT headed by a lady officer to investigate the incidents. However, police said that the victims and their families were not cooperating with them.

The victims will undergo the tests either in Hyderabad or the machinery for conducting the tests will be brought to Srinagar.

“The victims who have claimed that their hair has been mysteriously cut will undergo these tests in Central Forensic Laboratory Hyderabad or Experts and equipment and machinery will be brought here in Srinagar for conducting the tests,” the police official said.

Lie detection, also referred to as deception detection or polygraph test, uses questioning techniques along with technology that record physiological functions to ascertain truth and falsehood in response.

In the Narco Analysis Test, the subject’s imagination is neutralised by making him semi-conscious. In this state, it becomes difficult for him to lie and his answers would be restricted to facts he is already aware of. Experts inject the subject with Sodium Pentothal or Sodium Amytal.
