Second bank robbery in south Kashmir in 24 hours

Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen on Friday barged into Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s Ratnipora Shopian branch and decamped with cash, reports said.

According to the reports, unidentified gunmen decamped with cash in the early hours of Friday and decamped with Rs 1.98 lacs.

Pertinently, on Thursday two gunmen looted Marhama branch of JK bank in south Kashmir and decamped with five lakh rupees of cash.

However, police late in the evening claimed to have identified the two gunmen involved in the heist.

“During preliminary investigation it came to fore that two militants identified as Rasik Nabi Bhat @ Owais son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat resident of Nowdal (Kirman Mohalla) and Salia Mohammad Akhoon @ Rehaan son of Ghulam Mohammad Akhoon resident of Arampora Gurikadal Medoora Tral, of banned outfit HM are involved in the robbery.
