Shopian shuts for third consecutive day

Shopian: A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Shopian district to mourn the death of local militants on Monday in an encounter.

Three militants namely Zahid Ah Mir, Irfan Abdullah and Asif Ah Pal were killed in an encounter on Monday evening in Gatipora village of Shopian district.

All the business establishments and schools are closed in most parts of the district while public transport is also off the roads.

It is pertinent to mention here that shutdown is being observed for the third consecutive day in the area as whole Kashmir witnessed shutdown on Monday on call on joint resistance leadership against Braid chopping incidents.
