Deva Colony residents protest against shabby condition of roads

Anantnag: Inhabitants of Deva colony, Janglat Mandi area of South Kashmir’s  Anantnag district Wednesday protested against the Roads and Building (R&B) Department  for failing to repair the potholed roads in their area.

The residents including men and women blocked the traffic today for several hours, which resulted in huge gridlock in the area.

The residents were demanding the racemisation of the roads in the area.

They said that they facing a lot of problems due to the pathetic condition of the roads. “We have been left to face hardships. The government has failed to fulfil our demands,” they said

“There is a lot of dust in our area, which resulted in infectious disease to the inhabitants frequently” a local resident told Kashmir Vision.

The ACR Anantnag later reached the spot and promised them that the macadamization work will be started tomorrow.

The protesters later dispersed peacefully.
