Minor injured in stone pelting

Srinagar: A minor was injured after stone pelting youth targeted a vehicle moving on a highway in Pahoo area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

Reports said that miscreants targeted a vehicle at Pahoo bridge Pulwama in which a five year old kid, identified as Sifti Hyder of Gangoo, Pulwama sustained injuries.

The kid has been shifted to a Srinagar Hospital, police sources added.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that on Monday morning some miscreants blocked Pulwama-Srinagar road at Pahoo bridge following the shutdown call by given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL).

The miscreants pelted stones on the private as well as commercial vehicles plying on the road in which one minor boy identified as Sifti Hyder son of Reyaz Ahmad Malik resident of Gangoo Pulwama, about 05 years old, travelling in a sumo vehicle, was seriously injured after he was hit by a stone on his head.

The injured boy was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama for treatment where from he was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar in critical condition for further treatment.

Subsequently a police party rushed to the spot and chased away the miscreants, the spokesman added.

Meanwhile, police has registered a case FIR number 344/2017 under section 307, 148, 149, 336, 427 RPC in this regard and investigation has been taken up.
