Ensure your safety, DGP tells police personnel

Srinagar: Concerned over the attacks carried out on the police personnel, the Director General of Police Dr. S.P Vaid advised the police personnel to take care of their health by putting on safety gears during their duties in and out side police stations, battalions.

Speaking at a Darbar of IRP 17th Bn at Kheribal  Mattan, the DGP said that many of the policemen have been killed when they were not wearing safety gears during duty.

He impressed upon the police personnel to take alongwith protection parties whenever they go anywhere in busy places.

He reiterated that because of the good work done by Jawns and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police, the whole nation is praising the force. He directed the officers to chalk out fitness schedules such as PT, Yoga, drill etc for the Jawans so that they stay healthy. He also directed them to take care of their diet which should be balanced and nutritious.

DGP listened the grievances of Jawans, gave directions to PHQ officers accompanying him, to look into the grievances and redress on priority.

While referring to welfare schemes, DGP said that a number of schemes have already been implemented on ground after they were approved by Hon’ Chief Minister. He said that more such welfare measures with regard to promotion of lower and upper subordinates are under consideration of the Government.

Earlier, the DGP inaugurated the building of District Police Office at Awantipora and seven blocks of accommodation at Kheribal, Mattan which will provide better living and work places to the Jawans and trades men of JKP.  DGP was accompanied by MD Police Housing Corporation A.K. Choudhary, IGP Headquarter PHQ, Surinder Kumar Gupta, DIG South Kashmir Range, S.P Pani, AIsGP PHQ, Mubassir Latifi, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Abdul Waheed Shah, SSP Anantnag, Altaf Ahmad Khan CO IR 17th BN, Roop Raj Baghat and AIG communications Manoj Kumar Pandith.
