Botingoo- XI bags final title of Wular Cricket Tourney

Sopore: To promote local talent, Wular Cricket League Tournament was organised by Watlab Cricket Association at Watlab cricket ground in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The tournament concluded on Sunday, which witnessed participation of large number of teams from Zaingair belt of Sopore town

After fighting closely during initial league matches, Botingoo-XI and Watlab Ghat reached finals.

A tough contest was witnessed between both the teams in which Botingoo won the toss and elected to bat first, with batting first Botingoo managed 114 runs on board while chasing the target.

While chasing the target Watlab loose early wickets which made the position of opposite team strong, and while continuously pressurizing chasing team, Watlab Ghat loose the final match by 47 runs.

The event was graced by Haji Farooq Ahmad Bhat and Jahanger Gani Bhat Chief Person of Muslim Conference as a chief guest on the occasion.

Meanwhile at the closing ceremony of the final cricket match guest of the occasion Haji Farooq Ahmad Bhat said “it is really great to be part of such platforms where youths are busy showing their talent.”  He urged youth to make use of such opportunities to hone their sporting skills to perform at the bigger platforms.
