ADGP Armed promotes 2500 constables

Srinagar: Additional Director General of Police (DGP) Armed L Mohanti Monday issued the promotion orders of 2500 constables of Jammu Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) to the rank of Selection Grade Constables. The promotees include most of the eligible constables appointed in J&K Armed Police up to the year 2007.

The orders was issued by Armed Police Headquarters J&K Srinagar today after the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) headed by Additional DGP Armed found the individuals eligible for their promotions to the rank of selection grade constables in light of the departmental criteria laid down for such promotions.

The ADGP Armed J&K congratulated the promoted officials and extended his warm greetings to their families. He expressed the hope that the promoted officials will continue to work with the same zeal and zest and discharge their respective duties honestly and professionally fully upholding the sanctity of public service.

Pertinently 2300 eligible constables of J&K Armed Police have already been promoted to the rank of selection grade constable (SGCTs) on September 22nd last month.

A total number of 4800 constables of J&K Armed Police have been promoted to the rank of SGCTs in pursuance to Government’s decision for increase in the strength of Selection Grade Constables to 50 percent of the total number of Constables in Police department.
