A complete shutdown is being observed in Srinagar against the continued braid chopping incidents in Kashmir Valley.

Pertinently, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for complete shutdown on Monday against the unabated incidents of braid chopping in Kashmir.

Consequently, authorities have imposed restrictions on the assembling of people in seven police station areas in Srinagar ahead of Joint Resistance Leadership’s shutdown call against the unabated braid-chopping incidents in Kashmir.

As per official sources, restrictions were imposed in the areas of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, MR Gunj, Safa Kadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud.

Meanwhile, shops, public transport and educational institutes remained closed in Kashmir on the call of pro-freedom leaders. Lal Chowk Srinagar wore a deserted look while the shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the road.

Private transport, however, moved normally at places where restrictions were not imposed.

Incidents of braid chopping have been reported from different parts of the Valley during the last one month.
