Bootlegger arrested in South Kashmir

Srinagar: Police arrested a bootlegger in South Kashmir district of Kulgam, a police spokesman said.

He said that police laid a special Naka at Parigam bridge and started checking of vehicles. During checking, one Auto driver on seeing the presence of  Police tried to flee from the spot. The police team chased him and was apprehended nearby, auto was searched and 08 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the said auto.

The driver who was identified as Tawseef Ahmad Zargar son of Gulzar Ahmad resident of Tarigam was arrested.

A case FIR number 79/2017 under section 48 Excise Act was registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation was taken up.
