Braid chopping ‘a war weapon’ against womenfolk, says JRL

Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) Thursday called for TRC Polo View Chalo to protest against the “conspiracies being hatched by the Indian state” to change the demography of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

JRL including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik according to the statement issued here said that the Indian state is hatching conspiracies against the history, culture of the state to change its Muslim character.

“We have called for a rally on Oct 14 to protests against the anti Kashmir policies and to aware people about these dangerous designs,” they said in the statement.

The leaders also called for Valley wide protests on Friday against the braid chopping incidents.

JRL termed the ongoing incidents of braid chopping as ‘an attack on dignity and a war weapon against women folk’.

Asking people to stand against these “devilish acts”, JRL said that it was decided to resent and resist against those elements including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Deputy CM Nirmal Singh for their shameful and provocative statements, wherein they have pleaded for complete integration of state with Delhi.

Referring to what it called the ‘character assassination campaign’ launched by NIA sleuths against resistance leadership, trader’s fraternity, lawyers, intellectual including student community, they said that New Delhi is all set to abolish state subject law incorporated in article 370 and challenging it in supreme court of India, saying it is a well thought out ploy, conspiracy and attack by the state and union authorities against state’s specific and historical status, culture and its heritage.

In a fervent appeal to people, the JRL asked to illustrate strength by participating in protest demonstration and added that it is time to expose coalition partners including PDP and BJP for carrying brutal killings, loot, plunder, unabated arrests and urged people from Kupwara, Karnah, Uri, Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Doda, Jammu, Banihal, Islamabad, Shopian, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ladakh, Kargil and other parts of state to stand and resent against nefarious designs and deceit played by Delhi authorities and demonstrate commitment with right to self-determination movement.
