Referring to loss of precious lives in cross border shoot-out between India and Pakistan, unprovoked statements related to complete integration of state with Indian union, from BJP and RSS leadership and recent braid chopping incidents, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday said that life, honour and dignity of people is at stake and people are feeling insecure.

Geelani termed the situations as ‘extreme worrisome’, saying that “in occupied state and under the shadow of gun, people are living a miserable life and in an atmosphere of uncertainty.”

“BJP and RSS leadership is ignorant about the sensitive nature of Kashmir issue,” Geelani said, adding that illegal tricks and follies can never do away with this serious issue. “Millions of people are affiliated with this issue and India since last 70 years however utilising its military might and deceit, failed to change and alter its nature,” said Geelani.

Geelani called both countries to observe restraint and said that God forbid any flare-up can culminate into a full-fledged war in the sub-continent and none can bear the aftershocks and devastations evolved during war.

“It is wise for both countries to avoid horrors of war as it guarantees the stability and tranquillity in Sub –continent,” he said, adding that “Millions of people in India, Pakistan and war-torn state are living in uncertainty and below poverty line.”

“The cross-border skirmishes and shoot out between Indo-Pak forces on so-called control line has resulted into massive death and destruction of human lives, livestock and crops,” said Geelani.

He also said that the international community should take serious and effective diplomatic steps for final and lasting solution to Kashmir issue.

“The loss of precious lives is painful and a serious issue for entire human community. How long will India ignore the historical facts of the issue and deceive international community,” he said, saying that right of self-determination movements are gaining momentum and garnering support at international level.

He also suggested and asked Pakistan to deal Kashmir issue as an important party and in a responsible and effective way and while laying stress on observing patience and endurance said that cross border and unprovoked firing by Indian troops need to be highlighted at international level.

Commenting over braid chopping incidents, Geelani said that those involved in this heinous crime and disrespect for womenfolk are more worsen than Satan (Devil).

The Hurriyat leader asked people to be united, organise mass movement and strive against this troublesome situation so that all nefarious and inhuman designs are made out a failure.
