Initiatives taken to nab braid choppers, says Mehbooba

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Monday said that the culprits involved in the mysterious braid chopping incidents will be brought to the book.

Talking to reporters here on the sidelines of a function at ‘Makai Point’, Mehbooba said that the government is trying its best to nab the culprits involved in the mysterious braid chopping incidents.

“The necessary initiatives including establishing of Special Investigation Team (SIT) have already been taken. We have also sent a team of doctors to examine the victims,” she said, adding that the government is putting every effort to trace the culprits. She said that the culprits involved in the braid chopping incident will be exposed before the people.

Around 50 braid chopping incidents were reported in Kashmir from past 20 days.

However, the administration has so far failed to nab the culprits despite forming SITs and establishing helpline in this regard.

The Police had also sought public support in this regard and also doubled up the cash reward for ‘credible information about the braid chopping incidents or helping out to trace the people involved’.

Meanwhile, expressing dismay over the deteriorating ecological condition of the world famous Dal Lake, the Chief Minister when asked about the deteriorating ecological condition of Dal Lake, said, “I am pained after looking its condition.”
