After an injured BSF man succumbed to his injuries during an ongoing encounter in Srinagar, the death toll has reached three. Earlier, police said that two militants were killed and three security personnel injured in an ongoing attack at a Border Security Force (BSF) camp near the Srinagar airport on Tuesday. The attack at the 182 battalion camp in Humhama took place at 4.30 a.m.

“Three BSF men and a policeman were injured. Firing is ongoing,” BSF officials said.

As the militants entered the camp’s administrative block, they were surrounded by the forces, according to the police.

“It was a suicide attack. Two militants have been killed while an operation against other holed-up militants inside the camp is ongoing,” police sources said.

Top state police, BSF and Central Reserve Police Force officials have reached the gunfight site.
