Yaseen pitches for Tossamaidan- Doodhpathri Tourism Circuit

Chairman JK Peoples Democratic Front and MLA, Khansahib, Hakim Mohammad Yaseen has enjoined upon the tourism department to develop basic tourism infrastructure  at picturesque Tossamaidan health resort, in  Khansahib constituency. The resort was thrown open to public recently after remaining in use as Army Firing range for about 50 years.

He also urged the need to interlink Tossamaidan with Doodhpathri  through a bride at  Nallah Sukhnag to develop a beautiful Tossamaidan– Doodhpathri  tourism circuit.

During his visit to Sith Haran and Tossamaidan tourist resort along with the senior officers of district administration Budgam and tourism department, Hakeem  Yaseen said that development of  these twin tourist destinations in district Budgam, besides promoting  tourism sector in the state, would also provide employment and livelihood opportunities to the youth and unemployed people of the far-flung and backward areas of Khansahib constituency.

Hakeem Yasin asked the concerned engineers and tourism officers to form a comprehensive DPR for  development of the proposed Tossamaidan- Doodhpathri  Touist Cicuit  at an earliest so that funds for this purpose could be earmarked.

He said the proposed tourist circuit would  provide varied choice to the foreign as well as domestic tourists including  adventure, river rafting , golfing, winter sports and leisure tourism.

He also called for upgradation and improvement of Tossamaidan-Brass road which would provide an alternate approach to this tourist resort. He  asked the concerned officers to deploy adequate  staff for the twin tourism development authorities of Tossamaidan and Doodhpathri . He asked the concerned  officers and engineers to prepare a DPR for tapping Tossamaidan spring water for a new Regional Water Supply Scheme which on completion would provide drinking water facility to about 50 habitations in the area.

Adl. Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Farooq Ahmad, Chief Executive officer, TDA and the concerned engineers and officers accompanied Hakeem Yaseen during the day long tour of the area.
