Mirwaiz pays tribute to Karbala martyrs, condemns restrictions in Srinagar

Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday paid tributes to the Martyrs of Karbala especially Imam Hussain (AS), stating that his sacrifice infused new life to Islam, which will always be remembered as great sacrifices in the history of Islam.

Mirwaiz according to the statement issued here said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) along with his family members and companions offered sacrifice in 61 Hijri.

“Despite being less in number against the enemy he fought courageously along with his companions till his last breath to safeguard and protect the great religion Islam,” he said.

He said that Imam Hussain (AS) refused to surrender before falsehood and instead preferred to fight for truth and righteousness. “He preferred to sacrifice his life in the desert of Karbala to protect humanity and the great religion of Islam,” Mirwaiz, who is also the head preacher of historic Jamia Masjid said.

Mirwaiz, who is under house detention said that best tributes to Imam Hussain (AS) will be to remain steadfast against the nefarious designs of evil forces and thus protect the J&K from the State terrorism, brutal innocent killing, repression and worst oppression.

He said that it’s time to remain steadfast and committed towards the movement as history is witness that ultimately only truth triumphs.

Mirwaiz said Islam teaches not to surrender before evil and instead fight for the right cause.

He said the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) teaches us to stand and struggle in unison so that we achieve our goal.

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz condemned the imposition of curfew in most parts of Srinagar city and arresting the Muharram mourners and using brute force against the peaceful procession.
