Three killed as SUV carrying HC judge’s staff rolls down a gorge

Three persons were killed while another injured after a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), of a High Court (HC) judge rolled down into a deep gorge on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Ramban district on Friday.

 The car belonged to HC judge Justice MK Hanjura. However, Hanjura was not travelling in the car.

 Police said the SUV, bearing registration number JK02 BB 6686, skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near Seri Ramban. The Quick Reaction Teams and police immediately carried out the rescue operation.

 The four injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban where three of them succumbed, police said.

 The vehicle was on the way to Jammu from Srinagar when the accident took place.

 The deceased were employees of the High Court. “Justice Hanjura was scheduled to reach Jammu by air,” they said.
