Protests against braid-chopping attempt in Srinagar
Protests erupted in outskirts of Srinagar following an attempted braid-chopping incident.
According to the reports, scores of protesters, mostly women, raised slogans in Nowgam area of Srinagar against the police and administration for failing to nab the culprits.
Reports said that a resident of Hajam Mohalla, claimed that a masked man tried to barge inside her house.
“I raised the alarm after I saw him trying to barge inside the house,” she said.
As the news spread, people, mostly women, took to streets to protest against the incident.
Dozens of incidents across Kashmir valley during past more than a week have triggered scare among the residents, especially women.
