Just to appease the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Minister, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) officials along with the contractor here laid macadam on the road in Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district during rains.

The macadamization of the road amid rainfall was aimed to show the over progress to the PDP Minister, Syed Farooq Ahmad Indrabi.

This as per the locals was done ahead of the scheduled visit of PDP Minister to Verinag.

Indrabi was scheduled to review different development works in the different areas of the constituency, reports said.

A local resident captured the whole process in his phone and posted it on the social networking site, following which a number of officials who were tagged with the post assured of an immediate action by sending a quality control team on spot.

Locals said that this morning, none among the officials reached the spot to look into the matter.

They said that the official assurances remained confined to the post on the social networking site.

As per locals, the concerned Junior Engineer (JE) of PMGSY was present during the macadamization of the Hallan Chowgund road during rains.

Experts informed Kashmir Vision that it is mandatory that the temperature should be at least above 20 degree for macadamization but it is unfortunate the government officials have macadamized the road in below temperature only to appease the Minister.

Despite repeated attempts, JE couldn’t be contacted for the comments as his phone was not reachable.
