3 killed as HC Judge’s vehicle meets accident in Ramban

Three persons were killed and another injured when a vehicle belonging to one of the judges of J&K High Court skidded and rolled down a deep gorge on Srinagar-Jammu Highway in Ramban district of the state on Friday.

Official sources told that the Fortuner vehicle (JK02BG-6888) with four persons on board, met with the accident at Kelamohra area in the district. Justice M K Hanjura, the judge J&K High Court, was not travelling in the vehicle. He was reportedly scheduled to reach Jammu by air.  

Three of the four persons died on the spot while another traveller was grievously injured and was taken to Ramban district hospital from where he was shifted to JMC Jammu for specialized treatment, the official sources said.

When this report was filed, people and police’s quick response team had recovered two bodies and were at job to retrieved third one.

“We have retrieved bodies and another is being retrieved,” local SHO Rajeshwar Singh told a news agency.

It was not immediately known whether the all deceased persons are all staffers of the high court as police are investigating whether or not two of the security men travelling in the vehicle were associated with paramilitary CRPF.
