MADADGAR responds to help calls
Centre Reserve Police Forces’ ‘MADADGAR’ helps a girl patient of Wanpora village in Pulwama district by sponsoring her nasal surgery at a private hospital in Srinagar.
MADADGAR, a help line started by CRPF’s 183 battalion responded to Snober Gull’s call and arranged her nasal surgery at Florence hospital in Srinagar.
Snober Gull, 13, a resident of Wanpora village, who belongs to a poor family, had nasal outgrowth in one of her nostril. She suffered three surgeries without any relief.
Gull’s mother, Tasleema said that they were worried for their daughter as they had run short of money to go for further treatment.
She said that her husband is running a small shop and earns hardly for his six daughters, all of who are unmarried.
“A paramedic working at our village health centre told me to dial 14411- the toll free of CRPF’s MADADGAR programme,” Tasleema said, adding that she dialed the number but put off the phone before uttering a word.
She said she initially hesitated to narrate her tragic tale but when ‘MADADGAR’ called them back and took her into confidence she narrated them that they need help for their ill daughter.
“They arranged our consultation with doctors at district hospital Pulwama who referred to us to Florence hospital where the surgery was done,” she said.
She said that all expenses were borne by 183 battalion of CRPF.
Viny Anand Prakash, Commandant 183 battalion CRPF said that after receiving the request from the family he took approval from his higher authorities.
“Around rupees 32, 000 were paid to the hospital for the surgery,” he said, adding that the help line is first of its kind in whole Kashmir.
The aim of this help line is to reach to help of needy people especially students all over the country who face security issues and other problems away from home.
