Uri encounter: Fourth militant killed during combing operation
After government forces yesterday neutralized three militants in the Uri encounter, another militant was located and killed near the encounter site today, police said.
“Another Pakistani terrorist located in Uri. The area has been cordoned and the encounter is on,” DGP Jammu and Kashmir police SP Vaid said on Twitter.
Within the few minutes of locating him during the combing operation, a Pakistani militant was killed by the government forces, police said.
Vaid said that the fourth militant has also been neutralized by the forces.
Earlier, yesterday three militants including an army trooper were killed in a day-long encounter in frontier Kalgi village of Uri tehsil. The encounter had triggered between forces and militants Sunday morning after army laid cordon in the area.
According to reports, three militants were killed and their bodies have been recovered while four civilians and one army trooper were also injured during the gunfight.
