Two soldiers injured as India, Pakistan exchange fire in Poonch

Two soldiers were injured as India and Pakistan continue to engage in cross border firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sector of Poonch district.

Quoting army sources a news gathering agency reported that Pakistani troops opened fire at forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sector of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Troops guarding the border retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides lasted for nearly 30 minutes.

A defence spokesman said that Pakistani troops opened fire and shelled forward posts along the LoC in Bhimber Gali area of Balakote sector around 0300 hours, resulting in splinter injuries to two soldiers.
