Tral shuts for second consecutive day against civilian killings

A spontaneous shutdown was observed in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on the second consecutive day on Saturday against the killing of two civilians in an explosion on Thursday afternoon.

All the shops, business establishments and educational institutions continued to remain closed while the vehicular movement was also off the roads.

Witnesses said that the attendance in government offices also remained thin while as the financial institutions like banks also didn’t function for the day.

Pertinently, two persons including a college girl were killed while 30 others sustained injuries in a grenade blast that was carried out to target the vehicle of Works Ministers Nayeem Akther’s cavalcade who had gone to the town to inaugurate a developmental project on Thursday.
