Jammu and Kashmir Liberation front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik Saturday expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over that sad demise of Muhammad Yousef Zarger who breathed his last in Muzafarabad yesterday.

Muhammad Yousef Zarger was a close associate of father of Kashmiri nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt, the statement issued here reads.

Terming his demise as ‘a great loss for freedom struggle’, Malik said that his sacrifices and struggle will always be remembered.

A condolence meeting was today held at JKLF head office Srinagar in which many leaders and activists participated.

During the meeting, the struggle and sacrifices of late Muhammad Yousef Zarger were discussed and participants paid tributes to the departed soul.

A congregation prayers meeting was also held for the deceased.

Meanwhile, incarcerated JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather Boya whose PSA was quashed by High Court recently was again arrested and lodged at Police Station Ganderbal, the spokesman said.

He said that Police re-arrested Bashir Ahmad Boya after court ordered to release him.

“He was shifted to Jammu JIC and the P/S Ganderbal where he is still lodged,” the  spokesman said.

Condemning the re-arrest of Bashir Ahmad Boya, Malik said that he is in jail from 27th September 2016 and has been served PSA many times.

“He is a political figure and police is prolonging his incarceration by slapping PSA on him,” he said, adding that re-arresting and jailing political activists is ‘undemocratic and highly condemnable’.
