Tragedy revisits Trag family in Tral
Tragedy again struck Trag family of Tral. Master Gulam Nabi Trag was killed in a grenade attack at bus stand. He was epitome of courage and resilience. Way back in 1992 his son Farooq Trag, an al-Jehad militant, was kidnapped by cadre of rival outfit Hizbul Mujahideen following a group clash that led to killing of three Hizb men including a police deserter, Gul of Khasipora.
Farooq and two other militants were kidnapped after the killings. They were never seen again. For many years there were rumours that they were seen here and there. Their families went from pillar to post to trace them but it never yielded any result.
I always wanted to ask Trag sahib about the tragedy and it’s fallout whenever I offered him lift from his shop to home or back, but never mustered courage. I would never be able to ask these questions. May Allah place him in Jannah. (FB post by Journalist Khursheed Wani)
