Minister for upgrading existing power infra in JK

Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, Power, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control and Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi on Thursday chaired a meeting to discuss various issues related to up-gradation and improvement in power infra in the State.

The meeting was attended by the Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department, Dheeraj Gupta, Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC) Shah Faisal, Managing Director, Telecommunication Consultants India Limited (TCIL), Director Projects, TCIL, General Manager TCIL and other senior officers of PDD, JKPDC and TCIL.

During the presentation, officials of TCIL briefed the Minister about the working of the Company and offered their expertise for adoption in various ongoing power projects in the State.

During the discussions, the TCIL offered for E-Tendering Platform, State Wide Area Network, design and construction of State Data and Disaster Management Centre, Learning and Management in the field of Telecom and IT in collaboration with leading Institutions of India for the Jammu and Kashmir State.

Addressing the meeting, the Minister asked the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication and make close coordination with the representatives of the TCIL so that efforts can be made to upgrade existing power infrastructure in the State.
