From 18 month old baby to 62 year old man, Tral blast left many traumatized

Tral grenade attack on Thursday once again inflicted grave injuries on innocents, including an eighteen month old kid. The attack resulted in death of two civilians and inflicted injuries to Salbia Jan—one and half-years old-who was out with her mother Daisy Akhtar, when the grenade exploded in General Bus Stand, Tral.

According to family Daisy Akhter, who was also grievously injured during the attack, was going out and was waiting for a bus, when the grenade went off.

Daisy Akhter, w/o Showket Ahmad Rather, r/o Lalgam, Tral has got injuries on both of her legs, arm, forehead, face, with splinters all over of her back side.

Her daughter has got grenade splinters on her face, leaving the kid in utter shock, which was visible when this reporter visited her at SMHS.

“Doctors have done a thorough examination with carrying out CT scan of her head, she is fine now,” said Maimoona, a relative.

Diazy was lying unmoved on the hospital bed, with wounds all over his body she was not unable to move even a bit. According to the relatives, Daisy was in utter shock, as she was under the impression that her daughter is no more, however, after coming to her senses she was told that her daughter is fine, “but still, she is yet to come out of it, “said Maimoona.

Apart from Salbia, an elderly person indentified as Ali Muhammad Wani (62) s/o Ghulam Nabi Wani, r/o Nagapathri, Tral was also grievously injured.

Ali Muhammad Wani was out and was busy buying medicines when the attack took place. Wani is grievously injured in both of his legs, with grenade splinters injuring his face and arms.

When this reporter visited Wani at SMHS, blood was still oozing out from his wounds on both the legs and face. Wani’s both legs are bandaged with blood oozing out from the wounds, “even after treating him, see blood is still oozing out from his wounds,” said Fayaz Ahmad, attending Wani at SMHS’s Surgical Emergency Unit.

Pertinently, six people injured in the grenade attack were referred to SMHS hospital on Thursday, four others were referred to SKIMS for specialized treatment. Those injured, who were brought to SMHS, were identified as: Muhammad Qaiser (14), s/o Muhammad Amin Gojri, r/o Branpathri, Tral, injured in both of his legs. Ghulam Mohiudin Lone (32), s/o Ghulam Hassan Wani, r/o Khasipora, Tral, injured in both legs. Manzoor Ahmad Reshi (28), s/o Ghulam Rasool Reshi, r/o Tral, injured in left leg, left arm and belly; Daisy Akhter, w/o Showket Ahmad Rather, r/o Lalgam, Tral has got injuries on both of her legs, arm, forehead, face, with splinters all over of her back side and elderly, Ali Muhammad Wani (62) s/o Ghulam Nabi Wani, r/o Nagapathri, Tral, greviously injured in both legs, left arm and face.
