Indian soldier critically injured by Pakistani sniper fire: Army

An army soldier was critically injured in a ‘sniper fire’ by Pakistan Rangers at Keran sector along the Line of Control in north Kashmir Kupwara district on Wednesday.

A senior police officer said that Pakistan Rangers in “violation of ceasefire” opened the sniper fire at 5/9 GR unit of the army near ‘Pimple post’ in Keran sector along the LoC.

One soldier identified as Rajesh Khatri was critically injured and was airlifted to army’s 92-base hospital at Badamibagh here, the officer said.

He said that army retaliated the fire and intermitted firing was going on in the area.
