Admin, NGO join hands to clean Jhelum water at Verinag

Days after the Kashmir Vision carried a news story regarding the polluting of River water Jhelum in Verinag by the butchers, the administration along with the Non-Government Organization (NGO) started a cleanliness drive at the main source of River Jhelum.

Municipal Committee Dooru alongwith a local NGO, Greater Verinag Civil Society started a cleanness drive at the main Source of River Jhelum in Verinag.

The action comes after Kashmir vision carried a story ‘Butchers in Verinag pollute Jhelum water in absence of a slaughter house’.

On Monday, hundreds of youth including the Employees of Municipal Committee Dooru-Verinag were seen cleaning the canal coming from source towards to lower area.

The residents appreciated the Local NGO Greater Verinag Development Civil Society for their participation in the cleanliness drive.
